Position: System Administrator - Level 1/2

Position Type: Direct hire, fulltime

Location: 1449 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60605; mostly remote, but should be able to come to the office in downtown Chicago, IL

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
A Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for supporting, managing, configuring, installing, and troubleshooting network and systems infrastructure solutions for our customers. The SA must be a team player yet work well independently, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft, LAN/WAN, Systems Management, and Help Desk Management technologies. Responsibilities include providing helpdesk services for client support agreements as well as implementing engineering solutions for IT projects. The perfect candidate is a professional who is detail-oriented and self-motivated and excels at completing tasks successfully and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a primary contact on client support agreements
  • Set up and install new end-user devices, servers, and network equipment
  • Administer, manage, support, and maintain Windows Desktops, Servers, Microsoft 365, and Azure
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting activities on production equipment off-hours (nights or weekends) if required to minimize impact on operations
  • Troubleshoot workstation software and hardware
  • Perform hardware upgrades and swaps
  • Support the back office and application services
  • Maintain backup and recovery procedures for network systems
  • Train and support End Users on systems and common Microsoft Products
  • Interface with external vendors as necessary (i.e., Internet circuit and VoIP providers)
  • Actively participate in planning, coordinating, and implementing Windows operating systems and applications for small and medium business customers
  • Work with managers to maintain, document, and train on best practices configurations for Windows environments
  • Maintain a knowledge base of current technology with continuous self-study
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

The resource should be comfortable administering, supporting, and troubleshooting systems in a Microsoft-centric environment:

  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Microsoft 365 Email Solution
  • Windows 10/11 endpoint operating system, joined to domain or Azure AD
  • Traditional File / Print services
  • Print services

The resource should be comfortable administering, supporting, and troubleshooting networks, such as:

  • Firewalls (site-to-site VPN tunnels)
  • Network switches
  • Wireless Access Points & Controllers

It is important the resource has knowledge supporting cloud-based solutions such as:

  • Microsoft 365
  • Microsoft Intune
  • SharePoint / OneDrive
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Azure Active Directory
