Product Owner

Job Description

The Owl Centre has built and develops its own business management system, The Nest . The system provides the backbone to the company s business processes and sits at the heart of our staff s day to day working. We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our team and lead the future development of The Nest.

The Challenge

• To work closely with the senior management team to ensure that the company develops The Nest in line with its strategic goals.
• To work closely with internal stakeholders across the business, understanding their requirements and ensuring that the project scope has been interpreted correctly.
• To work with other members of the development team to create user stories that convey what is needed.
• To work collaboratively across the business to produce and manage the development road map, ensuring that there is always a suitably prioritized backlog of user stories ready for implementation.
• To align the development team around a vision and roadmap for The Nest.
• To be the ambassador for The Nest and the primary contact for any queries that may arise.
• To suggest features that improve the platform experience for both customers and operators, producing user specifications with sufficient details about the features that can be clearly understood by the development team.
• To break down the specification into user stories that guide the development team.
• To understand the business value behind feature requests and be able to prioritise them within the development backlog.
• To help solve any Nest related problems, highlighting the risks and opportunities.
• To ensure that development stays on track to achieve delivery commitments, including problem solving and trade off analysis when necessary.
• To work with the development team, monitoring the progress during the development cycle to ensure that tasks have the correct functionality according to the scope.
• To deliver demonstrations of software releases and to collect feedback on improvements for future development.
• To continually research the market, our competitors, customer usage behaviour and technology trends to ensure that we maintain market leading products.
• To create release notes, ensuring that they are easy for all users to understand.

Your Profile

• You should ideally have experience in Healthcare as a product owner working in an Agile methodology.
• You should have a fundamental understanding of the customer experience.
• You should have experience with applying a data driven approach to customer experience.
• You will take responsibility for the delivered products that you own.
• You will have a collaborative attitude with all stakeholders during the visioning and scoping of projects.
• You need to be a creative and strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
• You must have attention to detail in product design.
• You will have a good understanding of the development process and product development lifecycle and have experience of Agile methodologies.
• You will require good organisational and time management skills and the ability to work across teams to deliver a common goal.
• You will have experience of defining a minimum marketable and viable product.
• You will have experience in defining road maps and prioritizing project backlogs.
• You will have good presentation and leadership skills.
• You will have a basic understanding of the technologies used in product development.
• Degree or higher level of education.
