About the Role:

SoftLabs is seeking a Software Engineer for ICT Labour hire at their technology consulting based in

Responsibilities:

• Fully functional applications developed per guidance and direction from DSTG project personnel
  
• Test plans and reports for the verification of software stability and reliability
  
• Software documentation, user guides and operator training materials
  
• Mission configuration maps and software interfaces for communication with sensors and devices on and off board experimental vehicles
  

Essential Criteria:

• Demonstrated success and recent (or current) experience in a Software Engineering role
  
• Current and extensive experience in the Python GUI application development for a Windows 10 environment, Serial and TCP/IP communications, writing software that interfaces with embedded systems
  
• Modern C++ experience and Serial, UDP/IP and TCP/IP communications
  
• C/C++ Console based application development for a Windows 10 environment
  
• Atlassian Bitbucket in Git version control
  
• Issue tracking with Atlassian JIRA experience
  
• Creating software documentation for both users and developers
  
• Ability to document software, and produce user guides and deliver training for operators
  
• Excellent communication skills along with the ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders of varying backgrounds and skillsets
  

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience within a Research & Development setting, particularly in relation to a flight test program
  
• DIS Messaging, NMEA Messaging, and ZeroMQ protocol
  
• Matlab scripting and PyCharm for Python
  
• Microsoft Visual Studio for C++ development and Python C++ bindings
