Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager - UK the role will be a member of the UK operational management team. As part of the team the role will be responsible for contributing toward the achievement of the company s strategic and operational targets and overall business aims across all UK sites.
Although not exhaustive of supply chain activity, the role will primarily manage all materials, purchasing, production planning and inventory elements of the supply chain whilst ensuring acceptable levels of customer service, customer communication and coordination of activities with other functional areas.
The role will drive continuous improvement to customer service and supplier performance whilst ensuring operational efficiencies to best position the organisation for continued growth.
Principal Elements & Duties of the Supply Chain Manager:
Leading and working in project teams
Improving communication with supply chain managers in Germany and France
Support the development of business processes and systems to deliver business objectives
Ensure business systems static data is maintained and accurate
Support and ensure transactional precision within operations and business systems data
Review and analyse systems data variances to determine root causes and deliver improvement actions
Ensure customer sales orders are serviced to an acceptable level
Ensure customer communications are robust, accurate and timely
Ensure an effective, customer facing, operational interface to best understand and manage customer needs enabling proactive service development
o Sales order expediting communication, exception needs
o Customer supply, inventory, forward demand - analysis and planning
o Identification and delivery of improvement opportunities
o Proactive service development
Resolution of customer/service claims
Work closely with the Sourcing function regarding negotiating supply agreements to service business objectives
Experience/ Attributes/ experience etc required of the Supply Chain Manager:
Knowledge and experience of supply chain management and best practices
Knowledge and experience of supply chain functionality within ERP/MRP systems
Analytical, numerate and computer literate with excellent communication skills
A pragmatic and a practical problem solver driving continuous improvement
A team player with a professional and positive approach, able to work on own initiative
People management and change management skills (communication, influencing, assertiveness).
Project management skills
Self-motivated, flexible and a proactive approach to work demonstrating a dynamic and enthusiastic manner
Ability to perform under pressure
Degree qualified (desirable not necessary)
