Production Manager: Stone Fruit

United Exports is looking for an experienced Production Manager to join the team at Bass*Diii Farm in Worcester / Robertson. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, working specifically with Stone Fruit.

• Ensure the operational business risks in orchard is identified early and mitigated.
  
• Good communication skills to communicate assignments effectively.
  
• Previous team management experience.
  
• Strong team leader with good leadership traits in order to motivate teams.
  
• Coordinate and assist section worker activities, such as planting, fertigation, chemical application, harvesting and record keeping.
  
• Practical knowledge of the entire production process from plant to harvest.
  
• Inspect production areas to determine maturity dates, considering block targets as identified in the strategic plan.
  
• Report on daily activities of senior team leaders and production targets met daily.
  
• Record information and keep records of all documents.
  
• Sign off daily time sheets and manage absenteeism.
  
• Monitor and coordinate packhouse activities by effectively implementing packing instructions, quality control and resources planning
  
• Assist newly employed employees with induction and integration into the team.
  
• Monitor and report that employee adherence to safety regulations, policies and procedures.
  
• Ensure compliance and adherence to the industry regulations, e.g. SIZA, Global G.A.P.
  
• Ensure quality assurance as per the OZblu Standard as guided by Grower Success team.
  
• Ensure compliance to the company s policies, procedures and practices.
  

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 5 years managerial experience a similar role
  
• An appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant study field and experience in similar production environment will strengthen application.
  
• Basic supply chain and product knowledge in the fruit industry as well as a good understanding of Compliance standards
  
• Preference will be given to candidates living in the Robertson / near by areas.
  
• Extra preference will be given to those who can start immediately
