Your Tasks
- Verify quantities and sign for all incoming material, ensuring descriptions and quantities correspond to packaging slips.
- Ensure all outgoing material quantities are correct and that required documentation is included with all shipments.
- Signs for received goods and checks incoming material for accurate descriptions and quantities according to packing slips.
- Checks labels for accuracy and prepares shipping documents.
- Labels all products in containers for shipment.
- Ensures that the required documentation is included with all shipments.
- Responsible for all documentations directly related to Shipping/Receiving including, Custom Papers, Bill of Landings, Packing Slips, Daily Receiving Log etc.
- Operates forklift to load and unload trucks and to store finished goods in designated locations for shipment.
- Takes inventory counts as required.
- Responsible for keeping storage, shipping, and receiving areas neat, clean and safe as per safety and company guidelines.
- Keeps forklift in good operating condition by performing daily maintenance checks.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement and assists in its implementation on an on-going basis. Any other reasonable request made by management.
- Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.
- Ensures he/she is in full compliance with the laws of Ontario and/or any other province or state, while representing Company. or during the use of any Company. provided equipment.
- Judgement exercises judgement re:
Notifies Team Leader/Area Leader-Shipping of damaged containers, parts or materials
Deciding when not to accept goods that are either damaged or do not meet quality standards
Effectively prioritizing daily activities
- Accountability is accountable in areas of:
Accountable for ensuring the safe operation of all forklifts as per safety guidelines
Verifying all incoming and outgoing material
Ensuring the Shipping/Receiving area is clean, tidy and safe
- Contacts establishes/maintains relationships:
Area Leader - Shipping, Team Leaders, Packers, Production, Purchasing, Production Control, Engineering and Quality
Requirements
Your Profile
- Grade 12 Education or 2 - 3 years related work experience
- Valid forklift license
- Basic understanding of IATF 16949/ISO14001 requirements and Occupational Health & Safety Act guidelines
- Knowledge of WHMIS (Work Hazardous Material Information Systems
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Basic mathematics skills
- Computer skills, e.g. Microsoft Word, Bar Code label machine, GroupWise etc.
How You'll Perform The Role Produce molds and/or machined / fabricated parts accurately and efficiently within established timelines Handle cutting, drilling, reaming, boring, polishing, deburring and grinding of aluminum parts Handle cleaning, fitting, drilling and assembling of the tools Assist with sample making process when required Grind tools for custom requirements Know capability of various machines and related impact on parts/tools Come up with ideas for productivity improvements through engineering solutions like jigs, fixtures etc. whenever required Guide and assist co-workers whenever required Make wooden crates and pack the tools for shipment whenever required Lift and move product / parts / boxes when required Assist with cleaning up machines and their general maintenance Diligently follow lockout / tag out procedures whenever required Understand, maintain and follow the working procedures for machine shop Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S in own work area and around work units Perform all work in a safe manner and fully comply with the Safety and Quality (GMP) policies and procedures of the Company Any other duties as assigned by the Management What We Need From You Minimum High school diploma and Ontario Machinist Certification Minimum 5 years of experience in machine shop and fabrication for making thermoforming molds or similar applications Strong knowledge of different tooling machinery and its usage, including Milling Machines, Lathes, Drilling Machine, Band saw, Grinders etc. Able to verify dimensions of machined parts or tooling using different measuring instruments eg. Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height gauge etc. Able to read and interpret blue-prints or study sample parts to determine machining operations to be performed Strong knowledge of welding and brazing. Able to work accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision Should possess own basic tools Good English communications skills (verbal and written)
