Senior Asset Replacement Manager – Permanent Way (Ref 260000M5)

Responsibilities

• Manage mega asset replacement projects and capital works for Permanent Way (P Way) in the operating railway
• Establish the standards and requirements in formulating the contracts strategy with interfacing with other systems and works programmes
• Engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of the construction contracts in a safe reliable and cost-effective manner
• Coordinate with asset owner/maintainer to define the project requirements and scope of works to ensure smooth execution of the projects and the works in the operating railway environment
• Develop and implement control and monitoring measures to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and performance standards including safety environment quality and workmanship
• Lead a team of site supervision inspectors to execute the projects and the works jointly with contractors
• Review contract submissions and documents from consultants and contractors with technical assessment and expert advice on all engineering issues relating to P Way recommend measures to minimise impact on the project costs and programme

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• A minimum of 12 years relevant experience of which 4 years should be at managerial level
• Possession of Corporate Membership of a recognised professional institution is preferred
• Strong technical knowledge of trackwork system with proven experience in brown-field project environment i.e. construction projects in the operating railway
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with good understanding of cross-cultural environment

• Appointment will be made on two-year renewable contract terms
