Job Summary

The Finance Manager Greater China provides specialized services in financial management and reporting; accounting; grants administration management and reporting; or similar financial activities for a department or business unit. They have a high level of expertise in their area(s) of specialization. The position administers and maintains finance/accounting activities in accordance with TNC policies and procedures and best practices in financial management. The Manager provides assistance to staff in their specialty area. They respond to moderately complex employee/management questions and problems based on advanced knowledge of the subject area.

It is a 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract renewable based on performance and business requirements.

The Finance Manager Greater China provides highly specialized finance/accounting-related services to a department or business unit. The main responsibilities and scope include:

  • The position may support finance operations and related coordination across Mainland China and Hong Kong as business needs evolve.
  • Manages Hong Kong finance operations and ensures reliable delivery of budgeting forecasting accounting support payment review financial reporting documentation and month-end and year-end processes.
  • Lead end-to-end payroll operations ensuring accuracy timeliness compliance and continuous improvement of payroll processes.
  • Coordinates Hong Kong statutory audit tax regulatory donor board and internal reporting activities ensuring programmatic commitments TNC policies and procedures financial standards and local legal requirements are met and appropriately documented.
  • Provides finance business partnering to Hong Kong leadership project teams development colleagues and hosted regional or global staff by preparing financial analysis explaining financial results identifying operational finance risks and recommending practical solutions for business needs.
  • Supports donor- and membership-related financial management project funding oversight cost allocation grant and contract financial review and financial tracking to strengthen financial stewardship and day-to-day decision-making.
  • Maintains internal controls documentation quality process consistency and compliance practices and recommends improvements to finance workflows system use and operational procedures within assigned scope.
  • Contributes to Greater China shared-services collaboration with the China Program finance team and Finance and Operations leadership including Workday support process alignment knowledge sharing cross-training backup coverage and selected cross-BU finance projects while maintaining clear ownership of Hong Kong-specific statutory tax audit regulatory and policy compliance requirements.
  • Coordinates finance-related projects and supports special initiatives transition planning system implementation process redesign project close-out or other organizational change activities affecting Hong Kong finance operations.
  • Works independently on assigned responsibilities exercises judgment based on analysis and experience manages moderately complex finance questions and problems and escalates strategic high-risk or entity-level decisions to the appropriate leadership level when needed.

What Youll Bring:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or related field and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination; work experience in China and familiarity with Chinas business finance regulatory and operating environment would be valuable.
  • Experience with accounting/financial issues and analysis.
  • Experience using accounting and financial reporting systems.
  • Technical experience with spreadsheet programs general ledger reports and financial management tools.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Ability to manipulate analyze and interpret data. Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Accuracy attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Non-profit accounting experience.
  • May require technical expertise on complex accounting/financial issues.
  • US government grants accounting experience may be preferred or required.
