Engineering Manager Crypto Payments

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead technology delivery for the new portfolio. Asone of the first technical hires in the team you will recruit and onboard the founding engineeringteam establish the engineering culture and standards leveraging the client playbook anbuild the integration framework that lets us plug in best-in-class infrastructure partners at speed.

The role is hands-on. You will set the architecture make the build-vs-buy calls lead vendordiscussions and stay close enough to the code to make calls credibly from zero to one andbeyond.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the engineering delivery end-to-end covering wallet payments custodyintegration KYC ledger and account management and the broader product layer thatties them together.
• Recruit the founding engineering team; initially a tight pod scaling quickly.
• Set the bar forhiring and shape the teams culture rituals and standards from day one.
• Define and build our integration framework for infrastructure partners.
• Make build-vs-buy calls. Partner with our architecture and product teams to define ourapproach to integrating best-in-class partners / building the product layer / leveraging theexisting platform to support. You will own that line and defend it.
• Establish and run an AI-native engineering practice with modern tooling as the defaultcontinuous delivery feature-flagged rollouts synthetic users in production.
• Partner closely with Product Design Compliance Legal and the existing Bankand engineering organisations to deliver a coherent regulated propositionacross multiple jurisdictions.
  

Must haves:

• 10 years of engineering experience with 4 years in a leadership role at a digitalbank modern payments company crypto exchange regulated fintech orembedded finance platform.
• Financial services and crypto experience. You have shipped regulated products andyou have shipped on-chain products.
• Proven full-stack engineering experience across modern frontend frameworks andbackend technologies with the ability to make and guide architectural decisions acrossthe entire stack. Ideally Java and/or Python.
• Multi-vendor orchestration leadership including an API-first setup approach and run atscale covering roadmaps SLAs and support in commercial discussions.
• Demonstrated experience hiring and building remote and hybrid engineering teamsacross multiple time zones.
• Experience operating inside regulated fintechs across multiple jurisdictions; comfortworking with compliance risk and regulators (e.g. MiCA CASP VARA MAS DPT andequivalents).
