About the Opportunity

The Asia General Account Investment function serves as the in-house investment manager for all of Manulifes Asia Segments USD 116 billion of life insurance company assets. The team directs investment of funds backing insurance reserves amongst different asset classes and investment managers. It has direct responsibility managing over half of total Asia Segments assets in equities bonds mortgages alternatives and derivatives and it oversees the investment management and performance of assets outsourced to Manulife Investment Management Public and Private Markets and other external managers. The team seeks to generate superior risk adjusted returns to support insurance product competitiveness and shareholder value.

The Opportunity

The General Account Investment Asia (GAIA) - COO team serves as the Asia representative of the General Account Chief Operating Officer organization. The team combines technical expertise with GA front office investment knowledge to address Asia-specific challenges related to technology reporting and data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical & analytical expertise and effective task-oriental support for General Account Investments Asia front office.

• Create diagrams to capture investment processes and associated data flows.

• Use VBA/Power Flatform to automate manual processes.

• Maintain and support investment tools & self-serve reports built by COO.
