About Dayton School District #8
Dayton School District is a rural district located in western Oregon’s scenic Mid-Willamette Valley, between McMinnville and Newberg. The staff works with parents and other community members to provide a learning environment which leads to progress and success in all academic areas and encourages students to become well-rounded citizens. The student population of approximately 980 is served by a grade school, a grades 6 - 8 junior high, and a high school. The school district draws people into the community who want a strong educational system with a rural sense of caring and teamwork. Dayton was recently named an Innovate Oregon community. The mission of Innovate Dayton is to “Open the Door of Opportunity” for our students and community of Dayton. Schools, community members and local industry are partnering to reimagine our schools as centers of inspiration for learning. Innovate Dayton is a strategic initiative to create new economic opportunities in our community by empowering all of our students and community members as innovators.
