The School Nurse works as a critical member of our educational team to ensure a safe healthy and inclusive environment that promotes student success and wellbeing. This position provides health assessments emergency care chronic illness management and health education services while collaborating with educators families and healthcare QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) or higherCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) License in OregonOregon School Nurse Certificate or eligibility to obtainCPR/First Aid CertificationExperience working with children and adolescentsStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with carePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience in a school or pediatric nursing settingKnowledge of special education and 504 processesTraining in equity practices traumainformed care or mental healthSpanish language proficiencySUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct health assessments manage chronic conditions and deliver emergency careDevelop and implement individualized health plans (IHPs)Support immunization compliance and communicable disease reportingCollaborate with families educators and health professionalsProvide training to staff on student health conditions and protocolsMaintain accurate and confidential health recordsPromote student wellness through health education and resourcesParticipate in schoolwide safety and wellness initiativesCOMMUNITY DESCRIPTION:Dayton School District is located in the heart of Oregons beautiful MidWillamette Valley.
