We are growing. Alongside the Taproom we operate Patio in Paddington Rays in Camp Hill and The Bethnal. We are a hospitality group with momentum and we are looking for people who want to grow with us.


The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and driven Venue Manager to take full ownership of the Range Brewing Taproom at Newstead. This is a senior leadership role with real autonomy; you will run the venue lead the team and be the standard setter and backbone for the Taproom experience.

You will report to the Hospitality Operations Manager and work closely with the brewing team duty managers and the wider Range Brewing leadership group. This is a full-time role 38 hours per week working Tuesday to Saturday.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  1. Leading the day-to-day operations of the Range Brewing Taproom to a consistently high standard
  2. Building developing and retaining a high-performing front-of-house team
  3. Owning the Taproom P&L revenue labour and cost of goods and reporting weekly to the Hospitality Operations Manager
  4. Setting and maintaining service standards that reflect the Range Brewing brand
  5. Managing all stock ordering and monthly stocktaking
  6. Scheduling all FOH staff efficiently and within labour targets
  7. Overseeing compliance RSA licensing food safety and WHS
  8. Curating and coordinating special events and activations at the Taproom
  9. Working closely with the brewing team to ensure staff have outstanding product knowledge
  10. Maintaining the tap and beer system including fortnightly line cleaning
  11. Creating a venue culture that guests and staff both want to be part of


What We Are Looking For

  • A proven venue or floor manager with experience running a busy hospitality site
  • Someone with genuine knowledge of and enthusiasm for craft beer
  • A people leader someone who develops their team not just manages them
  • Financially literate comfortable owning a P&L and working to targets
  • A high standard setter who takes pride in every detail of the guest experience
  • RSA certified (or able to obtain prior to starting) RMLV is a bonus
  • Available Tuesday to Saturday with flexibility as required

About the Role

The Venue Manager Taproom Newstead is responsible for the full operational leadership of the Range Brewing Taproom at Newstead. The role holds ownership of the guest experience team performance financial results and venue standards. It reports to the Hospitality Operations Manager and works closely with the brewing team and the wider Range Brewing hospitality leadership group.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Continue exceeding customer expectations of modern beer and drink education and communication
  2. Carrying out and overseeing daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the highest standards of upkeep are met
  3. Stock control and restocking of all products for the bar and bathrooms
  4. Hiring training and managing all Taproom front-of-house staff
  5. Monthly stocktaking and reporting
  6. Efficient scheduling of all front-of-house staff within agreed labour targets
  7. Working closely with the Hospitality Operations Manager and duty managers to build a supportive and high-performing leadership team
  8. Curation and coordination of all special events and activations hosted at the Taproom
  9. Creation and execution of Standard Operating Procedures for re-ordering and inventory management
  10. Constant maintenance of the tap and beer system including fortnightly line cleaning
  11. P&L ownership monitoring revenue labour costs and cost of goods against targets and reporting weekly to the Hospitality Operations Manager
  12. Managing venue compliance including RSA licensing obligations and health and hygiene standards
  13. Conducting regular performance reviews and one-on-ones with direct reports
  14. Collaborating with the brewing team to ensure product knowledge across the FOH team is current and exceptional
  15. Other duties as assigned


Role Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a venue manager or senior floor leadership role
  • Knowledge of craft beer and the ability to communicate it effectively to guests
  • Proven track record in leading teams scheduling and performance management
  • Sound financial acumen with experience managing budgets labour costs and COGS
  • Current RSA certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
  • High standards of presentation and attention to detail
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Availability Tuesday through Saturday with Sunday oversight as required
