Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Procurement Expert - Supply Chain Manager to oversee the development performance and ongoing capability of a diverse subcontractor network supporting a large-scale high-volume government housing portfolio.
Reporting directly to the Account Director you will work closely with operational teams procurement specialists and subcontract partners to ensure capability compliance and service delivery alignment across the contract.
This is a highly dynamic environment where priorities shift quickly stakeholders are diverse and operational demand is constant. Success in this role will come from being calm under pressure highly organised commercially aware and confident navigating complexity while maintaining strong relationships across all levels.
You will play a key role in strengthening subcontractor performance improving consistency of service delivery and supporting continuous improvement across a fast-moving and demanding contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify engage and onboard subcontractors aligned to operational and regional trade requirements
- Manage subcontractor sign-up activation and compliance processes in line with contractual and procurement requirements
- Deliver inductions training and onboarding to ensure subcontractor readiness and alignment with BGIS standards
- Maintain strong ongoing relationships with subcontractors providing support and escalation pathways for issues
- Undertake subcontractor audits reviews and compliance checks to ensure quality safety and contractual adherence
- Monitor subcontractor performance across KPIs including safety pricing quality and delivery timeframes
- Support procurement strategy execution in collaboration with internal procurement and operational teams
- Analyse performance data and provide recommendations for allocation suspension or improvement strategies
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across subcontractor capability and service delivery
- Maintain accurate records activation files and subcontractor data within systems and compliance frameworks
- Work closely with operational teams to align subcontractor capacity with demand and workload planning
Education Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Experience in subcontractor management procurement operations or facilities/service delivery environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build trust across diverse groups
- Experience managing compliance onboarding or contractor activation processes
- Strong commercial analytical and reporting capability with attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced high-volume environment
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Understanding of trade services maintenance operations or subcontractor networks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational systems
Desirable:
- Experience within government housing or large-scale asset management environments
- Exposure to procurement frameworks or strategic sourcing
- Understanding of subcontractor performance management systems
- Experience working with platforms such as Avetta or similar compliance systems
- Knowledge of operational KPI frameworks and reporting tools
Workplace Flexibility
This is a full-time permanent position based onsite in our Sydney CBD office conveniently located close to public transport. Due to the highly operational nature of the role full-time office attendance is required.
