Were partnering with AbSec the peak Aboriginal child and family organisation in NSW to recruit a Finance Coordinator to join their Corporate Services team on an initial temporary basis with an immediate start. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a full-time role with a strong view to permanency.

Based in Redfern youll play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a purpose-driven organisation working to improve outcomes for Aboriginal children young people families and communities.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director Corporate Services youll be responsible for coordinating a broad range of finance activities to ensure the smooth operation of the organisations financial systems and processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Processing invoices payments and purchase orders
  • Completing bank credit card and account reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records in Xero
  • Assisting with monthly reporting budgets and grant acquittals
  • Supporting month-end and year-end processes
  • Assisting with audit preparation and compliance requirements
  • Responding to finance-related queries from staff and external stakeholders
  • Supporting continuous improvement of finance systems controls and procedures

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys both transactional finance and contributing to process improvements.

About You

To be successful youll bring:

  • Relevant qualifications in Accounting Finance or a related discipline
  • At least 3 years experience in a finance accounts or bookkeeping role
  • Strong experience with accounts payable accounts receivable and reconciliations
  • Experience using Xero and strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Well-developed communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and financial integrity

Experience within a not-for-profit community services or grant-funded environment will be highly regarded as will exposure to audit processes.
