About the Role
Were looking for an Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join our team at Pelican Point Power Station Outer Harbour (SA). Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator youll play a key role in supporting the safe reliable and efficient operation of the plant through the maintenance of electrical control and instrumentation systems.
Working as part of a collaborative site-based team youll contribute to maintaining plant performance while supporting a strong safety culture and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Standard working hours are 7:30 to 4:00pm. This role requires flexibility including the ability to work outside normal hours to meet operational requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out routine preventative and breakdown maintenance across electrical control and instrumentation systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve faults in instrumentation control equipment and PLC systems.
- Support plant reliability availability and efficiency through effective maintenance practices.
- Work with contractors and suppliers to support maintenance activities and ensure quality outcomes.
- Contribute ideas and assist with continuous improvement initiatives and small project work.
- Maintain accurate records in maintenance management systems and work in line with safety and environmental requirements.
About You
Youre a collaborative safety-focused EC&I Technician who enjoys hands-on problem solving in an industrial environment. You take pride in your work contribute positively to team outcomes and can adapt to changing priorities.
- A recognised trade qualification in Electrical or Instrumentation (e.g. Certificate III in Electrotechnology / Instrumentation) and a current unrestricted electrical licence.
- Demonstrated experience working with industrial instrumentation PLCs and electrical systems in a power process or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability across electrical control and instrumentation systems.
- Experience in the maintenance testing and calibration of instrumentation.
- Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems (e.g. Maximo or similar).
- A solid understanding of health safety and environmental requirements in an operational site environment.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and contractors.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and respond to changing operational needs.
