Senior Production Engineer

Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company

Location: Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Type of hiring: 2 years direct hire (renewal based on performance)

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Monitor daily production levels and devise strategies to meet daily monthly and annual production targets effectively.
• Generate shortterm and longterm production profiles and conduct back allocation for Sabah Asset.
• Take charge of production optimization efforts analyzing and tracking daily production metrics losses and downtime across the COMPANY Asset.
• Oversee total field production performance including optimization of wells and Subsea Flowlines/Risers.
• Conduct Well Test Analysis and Validation.
• Identify well issues through realtime production analysis Pressure Transient Analysis (PTA) and Production Logging Interpretation.
• Develop plans for well remediation Production Enhancement and Improved Oil Recovery (IOR).
• Optimize existing IOR systems.
• Maintain and update the Production Well Database in systems like AVOCET/OFM IVM/DOF PDMS and internal databases.
• Coordinate well reviews and act as a liaison between Subsurface Drilling Operations Offshore and other stakeholders to address well performance issues.
• Collaborate with Reservoir Engineers and Geoscientists to optimize well and field performances for enhanced recovery.
• Create and validate single well and network models for production optimization.
• Review historical well stimulation activities and recommend further actions as needed.
• Prepare Well Activity Proposals review programs and supervise the execution of well interventions.
• Maintain accurate records of reservoir/production strings produced/injected/process fluid streams for accounting purposes in a complex oil and gas infrastructure.
• Coordinate compile and consolidate production data and materials for various reports and meetings such as monthly well reports technical committee meetings (TCM) and integrated operations meetings (IOM).
• Provide Production Technology support for production operations and field development studies.
• Assist in contract preparation and management as necessary.
• Conduct occasional field/site visits to share production and reservoir surveillance strategies.
• Maintain effective communication with offshore and onshore management support groups and the Drilling team to ensure operational needs are met.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering
• Preferably 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of well surveillance Production Optimization and Well service/Intervention operations with a general understanding of reservoir engineering completion and well characterization.
• Previous exposure to Flow Assurance and DeepWater Operations would be advantageous.
• Proficiency in utilizing Petroleum Engineering software particularly in Pressure Transient Analysis Production Logging Analysis (Kappa Engineering Software) RealTime Monitoring Nodal Analysis and Network Modelling (PETEX: IVM/DOF MBAL PROSPER GAP) as well as Allocation and Decline Curve Analysis (Avocet/OFM).
• Familiarity with issues associated with drilling production and workover operations for both offshore drytree and Subsea wells.
• Possess selfmotivation and a proactive approach to work.
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in various software applications.
• Excellent organizational abilities and adept at building and leading teams.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
