Job Title: Test Lead - Selenium & API
A tech services company is seeking a Test Lead in Houston TX to oversee automation testing for a consumer-facing connectivity platform. This hybrid role combines hands-on Selenium and API test development with test planning execution and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day QA and testing activities for automation initiatives across UI and backend services
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium WebDriver and API testing tools
- Define test strategies automation frameworks and execution plans aligned with project goals
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to define test scenarios validate requirements and improve coverage
- Track test progress manage defects report quality metrics and mentor junior testers on automation best practices
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in Software Testing with a focus on Automation
- Strong proficiency in Selenium WebDriver Java or Python and API Testing tools such as Postman or RestAssured
- Experience creating automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing frameworks
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools Version Control systems and Defect Tracking tools
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work full-time onsite in Houston TX
Desired Skills:
- Experience testing Wi-Fi systems or working in the airline domain
- Exposure to cloud testing environments such as AWS or Azure and containerized deployments such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner
