Overview

We are seeking a Systems Engineering Manager Remote. This remote position is located in our Oak Ridge TN office.

Your role

• AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear is the subsidiary of AtkinsRéalis focused on serving government and commercial clients within the Nuclear sector in the United States.

• We are focused on being recognized as a premier nuclear solutions company in the United States delivering engineering operations and project management services.

• Serves both legacy and new build nuclear clients who are designing building upgrading operating and maintaining nuclear power generation and fuel cycle assets.

• We are a growing business building on the foundation of our US government fuel cycle business our international position as an Original Equipment Manufactor (OEM) and nuclear reactor technology provider and our world-wide nuclear new build and legacy nuclear fleet maintenance experience.

• Supports the design and develops small modular reactor and nuclear fuel cycle facility projects.

• Leads and supervises a team of engineers and professionals who support the design of systems structures and components for major small modular reactor fuel fabrication and fuel recycling facilities including functions and requirements development and maintenance; system description development and maintenance; and procurement engineering.

• Manages staff performance.

• Receives general administrative direction.

• Executes independent decisions and resolves important questions concerning the design and development of the small modular reactor.

• Interfaces with senior technical managers program managers and all levels of management throughout the firm.

• Identifies staffing needs deficiencies and opportunities for recruitment of required staff.

• Identifies screens recruits and orients qualified candidates to fill key vacancies.

• Communicates complex ideas anticipates potential objections and persuades others often at senior levels to adopt a different point of view.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

About you

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline.

• Masters degree preferred.

• Minimum of ten (10) years experience with a bachelors degree or nine (9) years experience with a masters degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing individuals or teams.

• Strong communication skills in a challenging multi-tiered environment.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Ability to foster and achieve goal alignment among participants with differing interests.

• Knowledge of key design standards and licensing requirements for commercial nuclear facilities required.

• Senior design or management professional on Commercial nuclear reactor projects.

• Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience.

• Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $119000 - $199000 annually depending on skills experience and geographical location.
