Job Summary
Job Summary:
In your role as a Staff Scientist you will support and manage environmental stormwater and wildfire restoration projects in Northern California working with utility municipal and private industrial clients. Experience in permitting SWPPPs and BMP design is preferred. We are looking for someone with strong technical writing organization execution and communication skills.
This full-time position requires approximately 40-45 hours per week and involves a blend of strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities. If you thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment this opportunity is ideal for you.
Key Responsibilities:

- Written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients construction crews and project team members.

- Initiative and motivation with an emphasis on completing project deliverables on schedule.
- Dependability with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to travel within the Northern California region.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Stormwater Practitioner (QSP) Certification or ability to obtain certification within 1-2 years.
- Field work experience (site inspections).
- Writing problem-solving skills and a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
- 3 years of relevant experience.
- A clean driving record.
Performance Metrics:
Staff Scientist will be evaluated on the following key performance areas during their first year:
1. Project Delivery and Oversight:
- Project manager supporting or overseeing project execution to promote successful delivery within defined scope schedule and client expectations.
2. Team Leadership and Mentoring:
- Supports team development through collaboration knowledge sharing and modeling professional standards.
3. Professional Judgment and Ongoing Development:
- Stays informed of regulatory technical and industry developments that impact professional practice.
4. Safety Compliance and Professional Standards:
- Follows established safety procedures and reinforces safe work practices.
- Performs work in compliance with applicable regulations professional standards and company policies.
- Identifies and communicates safety or compliance concerns to appropriate personnel.

The salary information shown below is a general guideline ONLY. Salaries are based on candidates experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $70000 - $80000
This position will remain open until a qualified candidate has been selected.
