Job Summary
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Engineering Team is responsible for designing and integrating advanced hardware for Group 5 air vehicles and missile platforms. Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Design Engineers own the full development lifecycle from concept generation to integration and flight test ensuring high-performance resilient and scalable mechanical systems that meet the demands of complex contested.
WHAT YOULL DO
- Design and develop aircraft fuel systems supporting multiple air vehicle programs from concept through testing and qualification
- Perform detailed design of fuel system components including tubing pumps filtration gauging venting and refueling/defueling systems
- Partner with software engineering systems testing manufacturing suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams to develop and integrate fuel system hardware
- Support component selection prototype builds qualification testing and system integration throughout the development lifecycle
- Collaborate with senior engineers and fuel systems architects while gradually taking ownership of increasingly complex fuel system designs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. in Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 12 years of experience designing aircraft fuel systems or closely related aerospace fluid systems
- Experience supporting the product lifecycle from concept through testing and qualification
- Experience with Siemens NX or comparable CAD software (e.g. CATIA Creo SolidWorks)
- Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and mechanical design fundamentals
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with suppliers component selection or prototype development
- Experience with one-dimensional fluid analysis tools such as AMESIM Flowmaster Easy5 or similar software
- Active U.S. Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance
US Salary Range
$220000 - $292000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience education and/or training critical skills and/or business considerations.
