Role Overview

Search AI Product Engineering team is the team that builds inspiring search and discovery experience for Coupang customers helps our users find products easier and discover more products to live their life to the best.

We are looking for smart passionate people who have a strong sense of ownership. If you want your work to positively impact the lives of millions of people and you are up for a change lets talk! This team is a full stack team in which there are Android iOS Web and Backend engineers. As the engineer of Search AI Product Engineering team you will own one of the most critical product surfaces on Coupangs app Search and Discovery surfaces where 60% of transactions happen.

What You Will Do :

• Build brand new user experience product for Coupang search and discovery experience.
• Help to maintain the high quality of one or several critical search related components on Android platform. Always strive for wowing our customers with robust fluent and fast app experience.
• Knit across teams by collaborating with Product managers and designers and other functions to build holistic experience thats right for Coupang users.
• Contribute best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative consumer-facing mobile products.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science electrical engineering mathematics statistics or closely related fields
• Experience developing high quality large-scale consumer applications
• Experience in data analytic tools such as Presto or Jupyter
• Able to conduct complex A/B testing able to do experiment analysis
• Deep understanding of UI development of Android
• Experience with MVVM Hilt and Room
• Strong communication skills and great product sense
• Strong passion of building product

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in relevant technical fields
• 6 years of coding experience with Android proficiency in Kotlin
• Proficiency in React Native
• Experience with iOS application development (Swift/Objective-C).
• Proven track record of strong ownership ideally within an early-stage startup environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage ambiguity in fast-paced environment

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for Staff position ranges from $164K/year to $282K/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience.
