This is an excellent opportunity to work with a small caseload of elementary-aged students while leading a collaborative team and implementing individualized strategies that promote student growth and success.

• Position: Special Education Teacher (Moderate/Severe Needs)
• Location: Thornton CO
• Schedule: Full-Time 40 Hours per Week
• Student Population: Elementary (K 5)
• Caseload: Approximately 10 Students
• Program Type: Specialized Autism/Center-Based Classroom

• Provide specialized instruction to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and similar support needs
• Develop implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Utilize AAC devices visual supports and evidence-based instructional strategies
• Foster a structured positive and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate with families related service providers and school staff to support student success
• Supervise train and support a team of 5 6 paraprofessionals
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring

• Active Special Education teaching credentials
• Minimum of 1 year of experience serving students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Experience writing and managing IEPs
• Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities
• Ability to lead and collaborate with classroom support staff

• Experience in specialized learning support or autism-focused classroom settings
• Experience working with non-verbal students
• Familiarity with AAC devices and visual communication systems
• Previous experience managing and mentoring paraprofessionals

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required within the first 90 days of employment
