Software Engineering Manager Cabin Systems

The Boeing Company is looking for aSoftware Engineering Manager - Cabin Systemsto lead our software development projects for the Integrated Cabin & Cargo Systems function within the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) organization in Everett WA.

In this role you will lead employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Cabin Systems specifically in support of the development installation and certification of Cabin Systems software features for the 787 and 777 airplane families. This role encompasses project oversight software development implementation responsibilities and a strong focus on quality assurance. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in software development particularly in DO-178 certification along with exceptional leadership capabilities.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to workonsiteat one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manages employees performing software engineering and technical activities related to supporting program lifecycle software design development integration maintenance and delivery

• Develops and executes project and process plans implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

• Acquires resources for projects and processes provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports

• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes

• Manages develops and motivates employees

• Manages budget and resources

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor Degree

• 5 years of experience in full software development life-cycle

• 5 years of experience with systems or software engineering on space-based systems

• Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 is required. U.S. Person includes U.S. Citizen U.S. National lawful permanent resident refugee or asylee

• Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader temp manager large scale cross functional project/program management or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course Exploring Leadership.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science

• 3 years of experience with DO-178C and supplements (DO-331 DO-332) and DO-330

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executives

• 3 years of experience in cross-functional leadership collaborative problem solving building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication

• Experience with Gitlab CI/CD pipeline

• Experience in software development using Java JavaScript and

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Travel:

Summary Pay Range: $171700 - $232300
