Payroll Manager

NEP is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations and payroll tax administration across a multi-state workforce. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing maintaining compliance with federal state and local regulations and driving payroll process improvements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong payroll tax expertise exceptional attention to detail and experience managing payroll systems and teams.

What Youll Do

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for hourly salaried and union employees
• Ensure accurate payroll calculations including overtime bonuses commissions deductions and garnishments
• Oversee payroll tax filings deposits reconciliations W-2s and year-end reporting
• Maintain compliance with federal state and local payroll tax regulations
• Manage payroll audits tax notices agency inquiries and amendments
• Supervise and develop payroll team members
• Partner with HR Finance and Accounting on compensation and employee data changes
• Lead payroll system enhancements testing and process improvement initiatives
• Prepare payroll reporting analytics and compliance metrics for leadership

What Youll Need

• 5 years of payroll experience including payroll tax administration
• Prior payroll leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll and payroll tax compliance
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workday UKG SAP or Oracle
• Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills preferred
• CPP or FPC certification is a plus
