MalaceHR is seeking an experienced and professional Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations of a commercial multi-tenant facility. This position is ideal for someone with several years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience who enjoys troubleshooting building systems providing excellent customer service and working in a professional commercial environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Engineer and Maintenance Team to ensure building systems operate safely and efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills mechanical aptitude and the ability to effectively manage work orders using a laptop or smartphone.
Tools uniforms and equipment are provided onsite.
Key Responsibilities
Complete assigned maintenance tasks including:
Painting
Pressure washing
Lighting system maintenance (bulbs and ballasts)
Basic plumbing repairs
HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting
Water treatment tasks
Locksmith work
General building maintenance
Respond to and complete tenant service requests in a timely manner.
Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage update and close work orders daily.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair building systems including:
HVAC equipment
Electrical systems
DDC controls
Pneumatic controls
Support emergency response situations and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
Maintain compliance with all company and client safety policies and procedures.
Participate in ongoing technical operational and safety training programs.
Assist with special projects and additional facility-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility maintenance building operations manufacturing maintenance or a related mechanical environment.
Working knowledge of:
Mechanical systems
HVAC equipment
Basic plumbing
Electrical systems
General building maintenance
Ability to use laptops smartphones and maintenance software to receive update and complete work orders.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for a multi-tenant commercial property.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate reliability and accountability.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to safely use ladders up to 30 feet.
Ability to frequently climb bend kneel stoop and perform physical maintenance tasks.
Preferred
Commercial property maintenance experience.
Trade school education military technical training union apprenticeship or related college coursework.
Universal EPA/CFC Certification or willingness to obtain certification within the first year with company assistance.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Excel Word and Teams.
Previous experience working in a customer-facing facilities environment.
