Job Summary
The Associate Technical Metadata Analyst will support the organizations growing Data & AI initiatives by maintaining and documenting critical metadata across multiple projects. This role helps ensure that data assets are properly defined classified governed and easily understood by both business users and AI-driven systems. As the organization expands its use of Snowflake semantic data models Cortex Analyst and AI-powered solutions accurate metadata becomes essential for delivering reliable insights trusted reporting and effective AI-generated responses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document business and technical data definitions.
- Maintain and update metadata repositories and data catalogs.
- Support data classification efforts for organizational data assets.
- Assist in governing and organizing data for business users and AI applications.
- Ensure data assets are searchable understandable and properly documented.
- Support semantic data models and AI-ready data structures.
- Help establish and maintain data relationships and approved business metrics.
- Collaborate with Data Analytics Governance and AI teams.
- Experience with Data Catalog or Metadata Management Tools
- Preferred: Informatica CDGC (Cloud Data Governance & Catalog)
- Similar metadata/catalog tools also acceptable
- Knowledge of Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms
- Basic SQL skills
- Ability to read and understand:
- Database tables
- Views
- Data structures
Understanding of data classification concepts such as:
- Sensitive Data
- Confidential Data
- Restricted Data
- Business-Critical Data
