Member of Technical Staff

Location: San Francisco CA

Onsite Policy: Full-time onsite

Comp & Benefits: $225K - $300K base 0.5% - 2% equity

This company is rebuilding consumer underwriting infrastructure from the ground up using AI-powered systems across document intelligence fraud detection and financial decisioning.

Their platform has already helped over a million people gain access to housing by enabling faster fairer and more consistent underwriting decisions for large real estate operators across the U.S.

This is not a narrowly scoped engineering role inside a large organization.

Youll help shape architecture product direction and core AI infrastructure while solving technically difficult problems in a highly regulated fintech environment.

They are looking for highly autonomous engineers who thrive in ambiguity move quickly and enjoy owning systems end-to-end.

What Youll Own

• Design and scale AI-native systems across underwriting anti-fraud document extraction conversational workflows and backend infrastructure.
• Own technical architecture and execution across the full stack while solving complex engineering challenges with real-world consumer impact.

What Theyre Looking For

• 8 years of experience building and shipping production-grade full-stack or backend systems with strong ownership.
• High-agency engineers who are comfortable making architectural decisions and operating in fast-moving startup environments.
• Strong technical depth across modern backend systems cloud infrastructure APIs databases and scalable application development.
• Experience with technologies such as TypeScript React Python Postgres Redis BigQuery and GCP.
• Strong communication skills technical judgment and the ability to think critically about scalability reliability and product impact.
• Curiosity around AI-native systems fraud detection document intelligence or applied AI workflows.
