Job Summary

Reports to: Elementary Principal

Hours: Full time following the academic calendar (7:30 am 3:45 pm)

All teachers must agree to support all sections of the ECS Declaration of Faith and must whole-heartedly affirm sections.

Applicants will be asked to affirm both the ECS Declaration of Faith and the ECS Standards of Conduct for employees

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach all core subjects including Bible in a self-contained elementary classroom
Participate in training in the implementation of ELA and math curriculum and follow the schools curriculum for all subject matter
Be informed as to the academic spiritual and social development of each of their students.
Exhibit knowledge of standards-based curriculum; collect appropriate data for standards-based report cards

Use effective strategies for differentiating instruction
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills and follow the schools plan for discipline
Employ those instructional aids methods and materials that will provide for creative and effective teaching including the consistent and effective use of technology.
Ensure that adequate preparations have been made to accomplish objectives and meet the standards established for the classes assigned.
Plan instruction methodically and consistently using daily lesson plans that align with the schools curriculum and curriculum maps.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and grades to meet the requests of the administration and ones own need for a knowledge of student progress.
Assign homework with purpose and intention to reinforce review and/or enrich lesson content.
Attend and participate in scheduled faculty meetings professional development and parent-teacher meetings.
Demonstrate strong classroom management that fosters a learning environment for all students and adheres to the schools policies and procedures.
Follow the schools protocol for classroom discipline.
Provide regular communication with the home via the telephone email and in-person meetings.
Attend all regularly scheduled meetings (typically once a week) which include staff meetings division meetings curriculum meetings and PLCs
Attend and/or participate in school activities and programs
Speak favorably of and publicly support the school faculty and school leadership.
Carry out other duties as assigned by the schools administration.

Requirements

Have a BS or BA preferably in education
Demonstrate evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
Have a pastoral reference from local church to verify regular attendance and active involvement
Adhere to the mission statement core values Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith of Emmanuel Christian School
