• Professional working knowledge of early childhood systems early childhood programs and best practices for child development and early education
• Demonstrated experience analyzing policies and/or federal/state legislation
• Experience in data collection for policy legislative or fiscal analysis *Experience in drafting policy recommendations and/or legislative reports
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other state agencies providers of services advocacy groups and other organizations

This position is funded in part through federal funds.

About the Division Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE):

The Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) implements quality standards for child care and increases access to families and their children across North Carolina. NCGS 110-85 requires that the State protect children in child care facilities by ensuring that these facilities provide a physically safe and healthy environment where the developmental needs of the children are met and where these children are cared for by qualified persons of good moral character.

  Minimum Education and Experience

  Some state job postings say you can qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience. If that language appears below then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience OR a combination of both.   Planner Masters degree in public or human service administration or human services programmatic field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of human service experience two of which must have been in human services program planning; or Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years progressive administrative or consultative experience in a human service program two of which must have been in human service program planning; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Evaluator Masters degree in the field of psychology sociology or social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in research and evaluation using statistical methodologies in human service programs; or Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in research evaluation and statistical application in the human service field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
