This position contributes to the hotels commitment to high quality guest satisfaction and teamwork by safely and efficiently maintaining the property i.e. performs preventative maintenance; repairs on mechanical electrical kitchen and laundry equipment. The employee may direct the work of other maintenance staff delegating tasks and instructing them in the methods practices tools equipment and materials used in a variety of building and mechanical trades.

Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Lead Maintenance Engineer to oversee daily facility operations and lead a dedicated two-person maintenance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer you will serve as the technical expert and primary point of contact for guest and property maintenance needs. The ideal candidate blends hands-on trade expertise with strong leadership and a commitment to exceptional guest service.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical electrical HVAC and plumbing systems.

  • Apply fundamental carpentry skills and safely operate a wide range of basic hand and power tools.

  • Strictly adhere to all safety precautions maintain deep knowledge of occupational hazards and ensure safe equipment operation at all times.

  • Leverage basic computer skills to adapt quickly to facility management software to track update and complete work orders.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Lead mentor and direct a team of 2 maintenance engineers. Share knowledge effectively and train team members on proper task execution.

  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking to resolve complex operational issues efficiently and independently.

  • Provide top-tier customer service by communicating professionally and courteously with both guests and cross-functional team members.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment maintaining extreme attention to detail and professional composure while working under pressure.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in general building maintenance or an equivalent trade profession.

  • Must possess a strong ability to learn new systems and follow detailed instructions accurately.

Physical Demands

This is a highly active physically demanding role. Essential functions require the physical capacity to endure extended periods of walking standing bending lifting twisting and kneeling.
