Job Summary
The Industrial Engineer 3 plays a key role in optimizing manufacturing operations through the development and implementation of efficient work methods labor standards and process improvements. This position partners with cross-functional teams to support operational excellence initiatives while ensuring the effective utilization of personnel materials equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in establishing operational methods and work standards using various measurement and analysis techniques.
- Provide data and reporting support for management systems and operational decision-making.
- Analyze and document information related to the utilization of personnel materials machinery and facilities.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering teams production personnel and external suppliers.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to facility layouts labor utilization and material flow processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on Safety People Quality Responsiveness and Cost (SPQRC).
- Ensure the effective use of personnel materials and equipment to achieve operational objectives.
- Support and implement quality environmental and manufacturing compliance processes including QS9000 and ISO14001 standards.
- Participate in line balancing process optimization and manufacturing system improvement activities.
- Work any assigned shift and support overtime weekends and holidays as business needs require.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of related industrial engineering experience.
- Experience in manufacturing and assembly environments required.
- Automotive industry experience preferred.
- Experience conducting line balancing activities (35 years preferred).
- Experience coordinating system simulations and designing process buffers (35 years preferred).
Technical Skills
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Intermediate proficiency with email and collaboration platforms.
- Strong knowledge of work measurement methodologies and labor standards.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in ergonomic workstation design and evaluation.
- Ability to analyze production systems and identify opportunities for process improvement.
