Scope of Project
NCDIT-Transportation (NCDIT-T) GIS Team is seeking a Specialist - Expert that will support the long-term maintenance and enterprise integration of the NCDOT Hydrography Layer a critical GIS dataset compiled by the NCDOT Environmental Analysis Unit over the past five years. The dataset has reached a maturity level requiring migration into the Enterprise GIS environment and ongoing operation support until ownership transitions to NC Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ).
The primary focus is to support the geometry event and attribute changes to the GIS data with additional responsibilities of data QA/QC progress reporting direct SQL Server Database query and Extract Transfer Load (ETL) process creation and maintenance during this period of management.
The complexity of these responsibilities are essential to ensure accurate stable and reliable management of the Hydrography Layer within the enterprise environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support long-term maintenance and enterprise integration of the NCDOT Hydrography Layer.
- Support geometry event and attribute changes to GIS data.
- Perform Data QA/QC activities to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Create and maintain ETL processes.
- Execute direct SQL Server Database queries.
- Prepare and maintain progress reporting documentation.
- Support enterprise GIS environment management activities.
- Ensure accurate stable and reliable management of Hydrography Layer data.
- Collaborate with NCDIT-T GIS Team and related stakeholders.
Required/Preferred Skills:
Required Skills:
- 7 years of experience with Data QA/QC.
- 7 years of experience with ETL Process creation and maintenance.
- 7 years of experience with Direct SQL Server Database queries.
- 7 years of experience with Progress Reporting.
- 7 years of experience with Linear Referencing.
- 7 years of experience with ESRI Roads and Highways.
Preferred Skills:
- Enterprise GIS environment experience.
- Hydrography Layer support experience.
- Advanced database reporting experience.
- Experience supporting enterprise data integration initiatives.
