Genomics Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Invitae part of Labcorp is seeking a Genomics Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join its team at its Metropark location in Iselin NJ.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing high-complexity diagnostic testing on patient specimens primarily focused on NGS platforms
• Performs assigned routine and non-routine laboratory experiments including NGS library preparations and sequencing using various techniques and platforms
• Follows written lab procedures for the correct handling and processing of specimens. Performs lab procedures of moderate and high complexity in accordance with standards set forth in standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Operates laboratory instruments and performs routine maintenance & procedural calibrations
• Maintains project and sample information protocols and experimental details through the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Performs quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records
• Identifies and documents problems that may adversely affect test performance and notifies the supervisor or director
• Document all exceptions when test systems deviate from the laboratorys established performance specifications or SOPs.
• Adheres to the laboratorys quality assurance procedures including documenting all quality control activities instrument and equipment verifications and maintenance procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in a Chemical or Biological Science Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
• 1 yearor moreof clinical laboratory testing experience OR anMLS degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year or more experience working a molecular diagnostics clinical lab
• 1 year or more Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) experience

Additional Job Standards:

• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High levelof attention to detail along withstrong communicationand organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

**Pay-Range: $26.00- $37.00/hour

All job offers will bebased on a candidates skills andpriorrelevant experience applicabledegrees/certificationsas well as internal equity and market data.
