Role Overview:
A large state government IT department is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to design implement and optimize solutions on the ServiceNow platform. The role focuses on enhancing IT service management and operational workflows through customizations integrations and cross-functional collaboration. This is an initial contract engagement anticipated to renew annually subject to budget approval.
Key Responsibilities:

Design develop and implement ServiceNow solutions including customizations and integrations

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather analyze and refine business requirements

Customize and configure ServiceNow applications modules and workflows
-
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on the ServiceNow platform

Develop and maintain technical documentation including system designs and user guides
-
Mentor junior developers and contribute to team technical growth

Perform Service Mapping Discovery and Event Management configurations

Conduct code reviews and participate in design discussions

Ensure compliance with coding standards security policies and best practices
Required Skills & Experience:

6 years of ServiceNow platform expertise (development configuration integration)

6 years of JavaScript and scripting knowledge

6 years of API integration experience (REST/SOAP web services)

6 years of ITSM and ITOM process optimization experience

6 years of experience with ServiceNow modules: ITSM CSM (PSDS) HAM and FSM

6 years of Agile/Scrum project delivery experience

6 years of technical documentation and system design experience

Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills
Preferred Skills:

ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or Implementation Specialist certification

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field

Proficiency in HTML and CSS
Additional Details:
Standard business hours 8 hours/day Monday Friday. Hybrid work arrangement; first day is onsite for onboarding. Preference given to candidates with full-time residency in the Atlanta Metro area or State of Georgia. Candidate must be able to travel to Atlanta at their own expense for day-one onboarding. No raises will be provided within the first 2 years of engagement.
