THE ROLE

Werehiring a Forklift Operator at our West Jordan operating forklifts and heavy equipment to handle oversized pipe maintaining accurate inventory records and assisting with assembly operations as part of our shipping team

WHAT YOULL DO

• Safely move position store and transfer large diameter pipe up to 60 using forklifts and other material handling equipment using proper rigging lifting and securement methods to prevent damage to pipe and coatings
• Load and unload trucks carrying pipe and other materials and transfer material between locations within the facility including outdoors
• Pick inspect pack and prepare materials and products for shipment or transfer accounting for all materials and following shipping and process control procedures
• Follow all safety procedures and wear prescribed PPE report unsafe acts or conditions immediately and maintain awareness of load capacities and clearances when moving oversized pipe
• Maintain a neat organized work area including pipe storage areas ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and waste is removed
• Actively participate in initiatives to improve workplace efficiency eliminate waste and improve quality
• Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED

• Ability to lift 45 pounds and perform tasks requiring both fine and gross motor skills
• Ability to safely handle and maneuver large diameter pipe using appropriate equipment
• Understanding and application of workplace safety procedures particularly for heavy load handling and crane/rigging operations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to use manual and electronic inventory systems

NICE TO HAVE

• 3-4 years of experience moving large diameter pipe (36 to 60)
• Forklift certification and demonstrated proficiency operating high-capacity forklifts and material handling equipment for oversized loads
• Knowledge of proper rigging techniques and load calculations for large pipe

COMPENSATION

The hourly pay range for this position is $21-24 per hour. Actual pay will bedeterminedbased on experience qualifications and geographic location. This role may also be eligible for shift differentials overtime pay and the full benefits package described above.
