Job Title: Facilities & Maintenance Engineer
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 3 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)
Location: Waterloo IA 50704
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM 3:30 PM)
Job Summary
Lead facilities maintenance and infrastructure projects within a manufacturing environment
Manage facility improvements equipment support contractor coordination and safety initiatives
Support production operations through engineering troubleshooting and project management
Key Responsibilities
Manage facility and maintenance-related projects
Coordinate contractors skilled trades and project activities
Support manufacturing infrastructure and production equipment
Troubleshoot facility and equipment issues impacting operations
Review hot work permits and red tag processes
Support Emergency Notification Systems (ENS) and facility safety programs
Coordinate building electrical mechanical and structural projects
Assist with supplier selection purchasing and contractor management
Support OSHA safety environmental and compliance initiatives
Monitor project schedules budgets and deliverables
Required Skills
Project Management experience
Manufacturing Engineering Operations or Maintenance background
Experience coordinating contractors and skilled trades (5 years)
Building infrastructure systems experience (mechanical electrical structural) (3 years)
Knowledge of manufacturing operations and engineering principles
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards

Facilities Engineering experience
Maintenance Engineering experience
Emergency Notification Systems (ENS) experience
FM Global insurance coordination experience
IT and network project coordination exposure
Material handling equipment experience
Work Environment
Manufacturing/shop floor environment
Approximately 75% of time spent on the factory floor
Onsite role (No Remote)
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
Metatarsal safety boots required on Day 1
Education / Experience
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field
5 years coordinating contractors and skilled trades
3 years working with facility infrastructure systems
Project management experience required
