Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and modify bearing components and assemblies while improving the manufacturing processes used to produce them. This person will translate customer requirements into practical designs drawings cost models manufacturing plans tooling concepts work instructions and production solutions.
The role works closely with Sales Quality toolmakers machining assembly and press-room employees. The ideal candidate understands that a successful design must meet performance tolerance cost tooling quality and production requirementsnot simply look correct in CAD.

Core Responsibilities
Applications & Product Engineering
Support Sales with bearing and assembly selection design layouts sales drawings technical presentations databases and customer issue resolution.
Develop and modify bearing components assemblies internal components and vendor drawings.
Review customer requirements and build-to-print designs for manufacturability.
Perform engineering calculations estimates design reviews updates and technical investigations.
Evaluate new materials specifications standards and engineering practices.
Apply Design for Manufacturability and Assembly principles to practical customer solutions.
Support new-product development and intellectual-property growth.
Manufacturing & Tooling Engineering
Develop and improve manufacturing assembly machining stamping and tooling methods for bearing components and assemblies.
Create and release manufacturing plans design controls detailed work instructions and engineering change notices.
Design progressive and compound dies for bearing jackets ball cases races and related formed components.
Troubleshoot setup and production issues with assembly machining press-room and toolroom employees.
Develop cost models and support business cases for new opportunities.
Resolve escalated technical issues based on performance cost quality and schedule impact.
Partner with Quality to define control plans and inspection methods.
Participate in Kaizen events and implement Lean principles and technologies.
Project & Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead engineering projects and coordinate employees at all levels to meet deadlines and objectives.
Communicate technical requirements clearly to customers Sales Quality Operations suppliers toolmakers and production employees.
Share best practices and maintain awareness of bearing stamping machining manufacturing and quality trends.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
Mechanical design drafting and manufacturing-engineering capability.
Proficiency reading blueprints engineering drawings tolerances and specifications.
Working knowledge of metal stamping and machining.
Ability to design mechanical components tooling and manufacturable solutions.
Strong analytical problem-solving project-management communication and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with customers and employees from the production floor through leadership.
Self-motivated work style with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Bearing design bearing applications bearing manufacturing or power-transmission experience.
Assembly machining press-room metal-stamping and tool-and-die manufacturing experience.
