SUMMARY:
The Evaluation Engineers primary role is to analyze and provide solutions for sales opportunities and project implementations. Working within the Solution Engineering department under the supervision of a Vision Lab Supervisor this role includes responsibility for performing the hands-on lab work necessary to produce working automated inspection solutions for Systechs Brand Protection and Packaging Intelligence Suite. Required in this role is the ability to understand the principles of machine vision and cloud-based applications and other elements necessary to deploy robust solutions. The ability to thoroughly document work follow good engineering practices and adhere to formal process and procedure is mandatory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviewing application surveys or a ticket-based SOW submitted to ensure all information is accurate and complete.
- Managing maintaining and prioritizing a ticket-based queue to meet strict sales and project deadlines.
- Managing customer samples including receiving storing and tracking samples in a database.
- Performing hands-on lab work to analyze customer samples to determine feasibility and selecting the appropriate solution for the application. Work with applications that include blob detection pixel counting filtering stitching thresholding edge detection and digital fingerprinting.
- Performing image analysis on proprietary Android iOS Windows Linux/Unix and Cloud based applications.
- Creating 2D based drawings and lab reports after lab work has been completed.
- Assisting with the creation of standard based solutions (hardware / electrical).
- Supporting end users and providing technical support with any issues related to the performance of the provided solution.
- Maintaining an organized lab environment and sample storage area.
- Assisting with the creation of procedures (SOPs) and template-based documentation.
- Remaining current in industry developments and technology trends.
- Travel up to 10%
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Some practical experience in applied engineering principles technical knowledge of Android iOS Windows Cloud based systems and Linux/Unix a plus.
- Experience in Manufacturing Packaging General Automation and Networking a plus
- Knowledge of Engineering drawing & working knowledge of ACAD
- Knowledge of photography basics a plus
- Ability to read/follow wiring diagrams
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written communication and verbal skills
- Possesses strong customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Acute attention to detail
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors or Associates degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology Electrical or Computer focus preferred.
- 2 years of practical Engineering experience Co-Op or internships.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Must have working knowledge and experience using e-mail Internet Microsoft Office (Word Excel) Visual Basic a plus

Work Arrangement : Part Time
