Job Summary
GHD is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join our Environmental team in the Superior or Miami-Globe AZ area. You will support hands on remediation a client site including but not limited to soil sampling activities including the use of a hand auger pick decontamination equipment and other related equipment.
Schedule
Full-Time 4/10 Schedule:Monday through Thursday 10 hours per day schedule is anticipated; however Full-Time 5/8 Schedule (Monday through Friday 8 hours per day schedule) may be required at times. Travel reimbursement and or hotel accommodations and per diem may be included based on location
Responsibilities: Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Health Safety and Environment: Follow the organizations health safety and environment (HSE) policies procedures and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action escalating serious issues as appropriate.
- Personal Capability Building:Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
- Testing:Perform a broad range of tests requiring detailed assessment measurement and judgment.
- Solutions Analysis: Interpret data and identify possible answers. Involves navigating a wide variety of processes procedures and precedents.
- Operational Compliance: Develop working knowledge of the organizations policies and procedures and of regulatory codes and codes of conduct relevant to own work adhering to mandatory procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the required standards.
- Waste Management: Carry out operational waste management tasks by following established processes.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts aiding in the quick and accurate identification analysis and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 1 to 3 years of environmental and/or soil sampling experience preferred
- Sufficient physical flexibility stamina and balance to perform bending reaching kneeling climbing walking over rough terrain and lifting or moving up to 40 pounds. Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
- Ability to work in outdoor desert environments and elements including changing site conditions etc.
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred
Ability and willingness to perform field work 100% of the time
Positive and collaborative work style.
Ability to work in a team and take direction.
