Elementary Instructional Coachjob descriptionContent Area: LiteracyReports to:Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and Building PrincipalsRole:The Elementary Instructional Coach is a leadership position that will play a key role in supporting thedistricts efforts around effective implementation of curriculum instruction and assessment inelementary Responsibilities: Work with the Assistant Superintendent and Building Principals to oversee implementation ofhigh quality instructional materials in each content area. Develop and implement curriculum plans aligned with district and building improvement goals Manage curricular resources including online access physical materials and ordering Monitor curricular assessments and data Coordinate and facilitate professional learning opportunities Provide coaching around content-based instructional practices to grade level teams Provide support in analyzing student assessment data. Support the facilitation of common planning time including use of protocols to internalize unitsand intellectual preparation for lessons and using assessment data to inform instruction. Manage time and schedule flexibility to maximize time with teachers and maintain opencommunication Organize and facilitate learning walks aligned with curriculum implementation goals. Support the work of literacy and math specialists through coaching and ongoing collaboration. Utilizing research-based practices support MTSS processes aligned with the content areas. Participate in professional development for coaches including but not limited to walk-throughsprofessional research and reading and inquiry sessions. Work collaboratively and collegially with all members of the professional learning community. Demonstrated ability to integrate culturally relevant and responsive practices. Support the implementation of preschool curriculum and assessment Schedule regular meetings with building principals Other duties as :A masters degree from an accredited college/university is of five years of successful teaching Rhode Island Teaching in Science of ReadingDemonstrated knowledge of Common Core State Standards Next Generation Science Standards andRhode Island content in researched-based instructional to continue career coaching or teacher leadership experience including but not limited to: Modeling instructionalstrategies implementation of professional learning communities providing direct instructionalfeedback and supporting continuous improvement active role on School Improvement TeamEffective communication collaboration and interpersonal skills for building an environment with acommon instructional focus promoting initiatives and conveying to design and deliver quality professional development for administrators and teachersOutstanding presentation and facilitation skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writingDemonstrated strength in organization communication skills and efficiency in meeting deadlinesDemonstrated ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a teamDemonstrated interest and engagement in professional learning and reflectionWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here arerepresentative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essentialfunctions of this job.
