Job Summary
SummaryThe Unit Service Technician provides a broad range of care and services to Patients including but not to limited to EKG phlebotomy equipment cleaning and stocking of rooms under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The Unit Service Technician performs a wide range of secretarial duties including but not limited to organizing paperwork answering the phone paging and receiving of ED patients into electronic medical record. The Unit Service Technician will perform 1:1 sitting when necessary. The Unit Service Technician of the ED will also assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.

Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree
Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support BLS - Generic - HR Only required and Certified Nurse Aide CNA - State Specific Certification Board required or Emergency Medical Technician EMT License - Generic - HR Only required
Experience
ED: experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant in an Emergency setting preferred ICU: 1 year experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant preferred OPIC Perioperative IV Therapy: experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- ED: Staff adheres to all C.A.R.E. Standards Must be able to work in a fast paced often stressful environment. Must have good communication skills. Must have the ability to set and reset priorities. Must have excellent customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast passed critical care environment.

Per Diem: 16 shifts in 6 months. At least 1-2 weekend shifts a month. 8 hour shifts minimum. Weekend and Holiday Rotation.
