This 50-bed specialty hospital is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer who can provide strategic and operational leadership while partnering closely with the executive team to advance quality outcomes employee engagement and patient satisfaction.

Position Overview
The Chief Nursing Officer serves as the senior nursing leader for the hospital and is responsible for the overall direction coordination and evaluation of nursing services and clinical operations. This executive will play a critical role in developing nursing leadership strengthening team performance ensuring regulatory compliance and driving exceptional patient care outcomes.
The CNO oversees approximately 100 nursing team members and provides leadership to several key clinical and support departments.
Direct Reports & Areas of Oversight
Departments reporting to the CNO include:
Nursing Services
Respiratory Therapy
Clinical Education
Dietary Services
Dialysis Program
Infection Prevention
Wound Care Program
Leadership structure currently includes:
1 Nurse Manager
4 Nurse Supervisors
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all nursing and assigned clinical departments
Develop and mentor nursing leaders while building strong engaged teams
Foster a culture focused on patient safety quality outcomes and service excellence
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
Partner with physicians department leaders and executive leadership to achieve organizational goals
Lead initiatives focused on employee engagement retention and professional development
Monitor clinical quality metrics and implement performance improvement strategies
Prepare the organization for ongoing regulatory and accreditation surveys including Joint Commission readiness
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required or currently enrolled in an MSN program
Minimum of five years of nursing experience within a hospital environment
Minimum of two years of nursing leadership or management experience
Strong experience leading teams and developing nursing talent
Acute care hospital or inpatient rehabilitation leadership experience preferred
Demonstrated success building collaborative high-performing clinical teams
Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to the area
