DEFINITION OF POSITION: Perform required student attendance & discipline duties
SUPERVISOR: Building Principal
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent educational experience
Clerical and computer skills including proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and the ability to enter and analyze data complete forms compose emails etc. with a high level of accuracy
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with students families and staff
Experience working with Skyward software as it relates to student attendance discipline and associated reports
Experience maintaining electronic student records and creating/archiving permanent filing systems
Knowledge of policies and procedures at both the district and building level
Knowledge of FERPA laws and procedures
Excellent communication skills verbal written and listening
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
SPECIFIC JOB-RELATED ACTIVITIES:
Maintain accurate student attendance records including entering daily attendance for all students and checking students in and out of the building
Receive students in the attendance office including admitting tardy/late students and overseeing the departure/return of students leaving for appointments school sponsored activities etc.
Contact parents/guardians regarding unverified absences and early dismissals
Process pre-approved absence requests and distribute excuse to leave slips and parent messages to students following proper notification procedures
Generate and distribute daily reports (i.e. unexcused absence report afternoon eligibility list for coaches/advisors etc.) to establish attendance and to disseminate information regarding absences
Prepare weekly attendance and end of semester reports
Archive attendance records following current guidelines and procedures
Welcome and greet visitors to the school office; ensure visitors are escorted to appropriate meeting areas
Perform general office duties including answering phones taking messages and communicating information to the appropriate parties
Prioritize and maintain a system of organization for office functions and procedures
Support the Dean of Students and building administrators with documentation support and other tasks as assigned
Input discipline records and track school exclusions
Coordinate with the graduation supplier for seniors ordering caps gowns tassels etc.
Manage staff parking registration and passes; input student parking tickets into Skyward
Work with students and administrators to process requests (i.e. FERPA dance etc.)
Provide backup support for other office positions
Perform other related duties as assigned by the high school administration
Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
Organize and prioritize work while being flexible in regards to job duties and responsibilities
Regularly demonstrate professionalism in appearance actions decisions and overall performance
Work positively with a wide variety of people both inside and outside of the organization

TERMS OF CONTRACT:
Salary: Unrepresented Classified Employee Wage Schedule: $26.79 - $31.64 per hour depending on experience
Length of Contract: 7.0 hours/day 184 days per year
Benefits/Leaves: Medical dental vision life and long-term disability coverage is provided through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) for employees who work at least 630 hours per academic year. Retirement benefits are provided through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS). Additional benefits may include sick/emergency leave and personal leave as per board policy.
