The Program
Summit Partners Base Camp program is a full-time residency for two early-career builders working inside Summit Partners to design ship and scale AI tools across the firm and our portfolio.
Most early-career builders spend years waiting for real ownership. The Summit Partners Base Camp program allows you to skip that line. From month one you will work directly with Summits investment team and Peak Performance Group to build AI tools that matter.

The Role
As a Base Camp Builder-in-Residence you will be embedded with Summits investment and operations teams to identify build and deploy AI-powered tools starting with internal workflows and scaling solutions across our portfolio of growth-stage companies.
Potential projects build on a solid foundation and extend the toolsets that Summits AI and investment teams already have in motion. Tools you build will support research monitoring and business operations including the automation of key workflows such as memo drafting executive search and sourcing.
Key Responsibilities
Residents work alongside Summits internal teams and our portfolio companies across two interconnected environments:
- Within Summit: Work alongside Summit professionals to identify high-value AI opportunities and build tools that improve the firms day-to-day operations.
- Across the Portfolio: Take frameworks youve built internally and deploy them at companies across Summits portfolio. You will engage directly with portfolio companies and develop repeatable frameworks that can scale broadly.
Candidate Profile
You dont need years of experience. You need a bias for building and genuine curiosity about how businesses grow. We are looking for candidates who are:
- Builders first comfortable with Python LLM APIs and agent frameworks. Shipped work and source code matter more than credentials.
- Systems thinkers designs for reuse and thinks about how a solution scales across teams before writing the first line of code.
- Business Curious bridges engineering and business conversations and understands what outcomes matter to operators and investors.
- High-agency comfortable with ambiguity makes decisions and moves forward without waiting for perfect specifications.
Qualifications
- 02 years of professional experience
- Background in computer science engineering or a quantitative field preferred
- Demonstrated experience building with LLMs agents or AI-powered applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in an ambiguous fast-moving environment

- Application review: Our team reviews all submissions. We are looking at what you built how you explain it and how you think about taking a solution from one use case to many.
- In-person superday: Finalists are invited to our Boston office for a 20-minute live presentation on July 16 2026. Walk us through what you built why you built it and how you would scale it.

- This role is based out of Summit Partners Boston office in the heart of Back Bay. This role requires full-time in-office presence five days per week. You will have access to an onsite gym catered breakfast and lunch a fully stocked kitchen and plentiful team and office events. Compensation is highly competitive.

Compensation
The expected base salary range for this position is $85000-$150000. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidates qualifications skills and experience. This range may be modified in the future.
