Access Control Low Voltage Field Technician

We are hiring a Field Technician to support installation and service work across parking systems electronic security systems physical security systems and related low-voltage technology throughout the Pittsburgh area. This may include access control video surveillance IP camera systems alarm systems parking equipment gate operators turnstiles and other commercial security and access systems.

Prior electronic security experience is preferred but candidates must have hands-on low-voltage field experience.

This is a field-based role. After training technicians spend approximately 90% of their time working in the field across the Pittsburgh area and about 10% handling documentation and coordination. You will be assigned a company van to take home and will typically start your day directly from the field rather than reporting to the office daily.

Key Responsibilities

Install and service parking systems access control systems CCTV IP camera systems alarm systems gate operators turnstiles and related low-voltage security systems
Install and troubleshoot field devices including cameras card readers door contacts electric strikes mag locks parking equipment gate operators and other access or security devices
Run pull terminate test and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling as needed
Assist with system setup programming testing and commissioning
Troubleshoot system issues in the field and complete service calls independently
Read and work from drawings plans and project specifications
Complete job documentation and communicate with project managers and customers
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for nights and weekends

Qualifications

Required:
Hands-on low-voltage field experience
Experience running pulling terminating testing or troubleshooting low-voltage cabling and devices
Experience with installation wiring and device setup
Ability to troubleshoot and complete service work independently
Basic networking knowledge including IP devices and connectivity troubleshooting
Strong work ethic and communication skills
Valid drivers license
Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Preferred:
Electronic security experience including access control CCTV IP camera systems alarm systems or related commercial security systems
Experience with parking systems gate operators turnstiles barrier arms access systems or physical security equipment
Experience with systems such as Genetec Lenel Avigilon Brivo Honeywell Axis Hanwha OpenEye or similar
Experience working for a security integrator parking/access systems provider low-voltage contractor AV company telecom company or electrical contractor
Relevant certifications including OSHA lift low-voltage manufacturer certifications or related credentials

Primarily field-based throughout the Pittsburgh area
Rotating on-call schedule
