Ride buses and help driver ensure safe and orderly transportation of students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Student Management

1. Lift and carry students with disabilities on and off the bus according to their individual
2. Supervise students as they board and leave bus and cross
3. Take children into building and help them find their
4. Learn and adapt to each students special medical physical communicative and emotional
5. Manage student behavior and report student discipline problems to appropriate
6. Communicate with teachers and parents on a daily basis regarding student behavior while on

1. Become familiar with all routes to and from school campus to be of assistance to
2. Maintain an updated route

1. Supervise use of seat belts harnesses or car seats by
2. Follow emergency procedures and help driver administer first aid if
3. Operate equipment according to established safety
4. Follow established procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting assisting students

1. Become familiar with and follow procedures established by transportation and special education
2. Help driver keep bus
3. Work irregular hours as
4. Participate in staff meetings and special events as
5. Exercise professional judgment in absences; be punctual to work meetings and
6. Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate

Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to write and speak simple sentences.

Ability to perform basic math operations.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Occasional absences are understood but regular attendance is required.

While performing the duties of this job frequent walking stooping bending kneeling pushing and pulling is required. Moderate lifting and carrying is required. Specific vision abilities required include close vision depth perception peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee must maintain emotional control under stress.

While performing the duties of this job the employee works outside and inside and works around vehicles and machinery with moving parts. The employee may be moderately exposed to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes. The noise level in the work environment is loud to where you have to raise your voice to be heard.
