The Quality Controller is responsible for performing detailed microscope inspections during both in-process and final stages ensuring all products meet approved standards and specifications. The role ensures compliance with applicable industry standards (including IPC and ECSS aerospace/space requirements) and internal quality management systems. Additionally it focuses on maintaining reviewing and continuously improving inspection processes while ensuring strict adherence to established quality and operational procedures within the formal acceptance framework.
KEY TASKS
Quality Control General:
Responsible for the inspection of reprocessed components.
Verify that controlled build activities are tracked and documented in accordance with procedures.
Assist with the calibration and maintenance of equipment (internal and subcontracted) in a timely manner in adherence to the schedule.
Assist with the inspection of incoming components parts sub-assemblies and assemblies and reject and return non-conforming deliveries.
Quality Control Manual Assembly line:
Responsible for in-process and final inspection of sub-assemblies and integrated assemblies including all related build documentation.
Responsible for the inspection of outgoing deliveries (to subcontractors and clients) ensuring that products are in line with technical and client requirements.
Quality Control SMT Assembly line:
Responsible for verifying machine set-ups on the SMT assembly line prior to the start of a run.
Responsible for the inspection and analysis of first article inspections and first-off products from a run.
Responsible for in-process and final inspection of sub-assemblies and integrated assemblies on the SMT assembly line including all related build documentation.
Responsible for the inspection of sub-assemblies using the Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machine.
Administration:
Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation (inspection checklists and records build histories batch and lot control photos etc.).
Responsible for identifying flagging and reporting non-conforming sub-assemblies assemblies and products and following the non-conformance process.
Logging of PORs on Syspro.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
Valid IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 or ECSS certificate (Preference will be given to aerospace and defence electronics experience)
Experience & Knowledge:
More than 5 years experience in the electronic manufacturing industry
Knowledge of workmanship standards
Experience with soldering conformal coating and staking
34 years of quality control/inspection experience in the electronic manufacturing industry (preference will be given to candidates with aerospace and defence electronics experience)
Proficient in MS Office applications particularly Excel Word Teams and Outlook
