Job Summary
Are you passionate about turning ideas into proven solutions Were looking for a detail-oriented Lab Technician / Engineering Technologist to play a key role in testing and validating innovative construction materials and structural systems. From advanced concrete composites to next-generation building technologies your work will directly contribute to the development of smarter stronger and more sustainable engineering solutions.
Job Description:
- Perform mechanical testing including compression tensile and flexural testing on concrete steel and composite materials
- Prepare mix cast and cure material samples to ensure accurate and reliable test results
- Assist engineering teams with the assembly setup and testing of structural prototypes
- Capture analyse and report test data while maintaining detailed records and visual documentation
- Maintain laboratory equipment monitor inventory levels and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 25 years of experience in a materials testing or engineering laboratory environment
- Working knowledge of SANS ASTM and/or ISO testing standards
- Strong data recording analysis and reporting capabilities
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience with composite materials and hydraulic testing equipment will be advantageous
Qualification:
- National Diploma BTech or BSc in Civil Engineering Materials Science or a related field
