SAFETY & SECURITY OFFICER
Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Facilities Safety & Security Director the Safety & Security Officer responsible for executing monitoring and field-auditing the campus safety and security frameworks at IFS. The successful candidate ensures total compliance with local regulatory standards while fostering a proactive culture of safety across the school community.
1. Regulatory Compliance & Policy Management
Monitor local regulatory changes and continuously update IFS safety and security policies to ensure full alignment with Singapore laws and standards.
Manage and maintain the schools bizSAFE certification including the systematic setup review and updating of Risk Assessments (RA).
Ensure all on-site service providers contractors and external vendors strictly adhere to IFS internal Risk Assessments during maintenance work and project execution.
Conduct regular safety and security audits across the campus; analyze malfunctions or non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
2. Emergency Preparedness & Incident Management
Be the centralized point of contact during fire alarms emergency evacuations drills at the assembly area
Design and execute mock fire drills and specialized emergency training for outsourced security personnel.
Lead accident analyses and incident investigations; diagnose root causes draft comprehensive reports and implement preventive measures.
Support the Fire Safety Manager in maintaining liaison records with SPF SCDF and local authorities.
3. Vendor & Systems Management
Oversee the performance of outsourced Security Services and Auxiliary Police Officers (APO) ensuring deliverables meet contractual KPIs through weekly meetings and operational reviews.
Ensure the 100% serviceability of all safety and security systems including but not limited to: AEDs Lightning Warning Systems CCTV DECAM Thermal Cameras PA systems and access controls.
Manage the procurement process for security equipment including sourcing quotations evaluating vendors and tracking department invoices.
Conduct randomized physical and CCTV audits of outsourced guard operations to verify log accuracy and ensure transparency.
4. Access Control & Campus Operations
Oversee daily campus access control operations: manage the Visitor Management System (VMS) collect daily security reports
Handle staff/student/vendor/ parents badge issuance.
Program and maintain digital locking systems (Simons-Voss / EM locks) turnstiles and the Genetec security platform.
Supervise traffic parking allotments car decal distribution and general student/staff movement during peak morning and afternoon hours.
Provide comprehensive safety and security oversight for all indoor and outdoor school events (pre-event planning live monitoring and post-event debriefs).
Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
Certifications: Valid Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification with active SCDF registration is highly advantageous.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a dedicated fire safety or security role. Experience within the International school or education sector is highly advantageous.
Technical Upskilling: Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Level B certification is a strong asset.
Systems Knowledge: Proficiency with security infrastructure (Genetec Simons-Voss VMS) and standard office productivity tools (Google Workspace Microsoft Office).
Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and work cohesively within a team.
Contract Type: Permanent Full-Time (42 hours per week).
